About the Artist
Morgan (Back, Sun-Ki)

* Place of Birth: Seoul
* Education: 1980 Graduation from South Seoul High School (“love art” course from 1978 to 1979) 1984 Graduation from Kyung-Ki University (fine art major)
* Military service: 1985-1987
During his early years, Morgan was an artist living and painting in the countryside of Kyung-Ki, Seoul. Although he was raised in an urban area, he became deeply interested in life in the rural regions. He enjoyed visiting his grandfather who lived in a rural area and sketched the landscape during his time there. His grandfather invited young Morgan to his home frequently to help him discover his artistic sensibilities and let him paint objects around his home. This is how Morgan began painting professionally.
His early style combined his passion for landscapes and seascapes with a formal sense of accuracy. Now Morgan has changed his formal style into an impressionistic style. His paintings consist of impressionistic European street scenes, Venice, and various landscapes.

* Throughout the two decades of his career, Morgan’s work has been privately collected nationwide and has been exhibited in domestic galleries in many cities across Korea, including Seoul, Pusan, Daejeon, and Dagu.
